Press Release

Capnamic welcomes Jason Grüninger as new Investment Analyst

One new Investment Analyst is clearly not enough: Jason Grüninger completes the second half of the brand new dream team of Investment Analysts (Markus Merz is starting simultaneously) and we couldn't be more thrilled. He knows his way around the Capnamic-Verse. To kick off his official start at Capnamic check out our Q&A with him.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you have been up to before joining Capnamic?
I am joining Capnamic directly from RWTH Aachen University, where I have just completed my master's degree in mechanical engineering and business. Before, I finally joined the company permanently, I was already part of the investment team as an intern and working student. At the same time, I was able to gain experience in the strategy department of our portfolio company Userlane. As a student consultant and through further experience in other consultancies, I was able to build up an initial skillset for my current tasks.

2. Your best tipp for entering the VC world?
Once you have your first foot in the door as an intern, you have the chance to convince the team of your skills and also to test whether the VC world really suits you.

3. What will you be up to at Capnamic? Tell us a bit of your role and what you are most excited about?
I start as an investment analyst. In this role, it's about finding and getting to know exciting early-stage startups. At the same time, after the initial contact, it's about understanding the problem and the respective solution in detail. This is where the greatest joy of the job lies: on the one hand, the exchange with incredibly intelligent and interesting personalities and on the other hand, the deep familiarization with entirely new topics.
